Hi! My name is Chad Vankoughnett (van-KOO-net), and I will be starting as the new Executive Director at Arlington in January. You may remember my wife Dyan Mouland, who was the Exec Director several years ago, or my 13 year old son Noah, who everyone seems to know for some reason. I am very excited (and somewhat intimidated) to be taking over the reins of the camp from Don, who has done an amazing job over the last several years. If you are having a hard time placing me, and if you are someone who attends Family Camp, I am the guy who gets to do the fireworks every year.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am coming to Arlington after spending 3 years as the Director of Human Resources and Digital Marketing at J&H Builder’s Warehouse in Saskatoon. We have been living in the town of Hepburn, which is about a half hour north of Saskatoon, and have been very involved in the community there. Dyan has been operating a market garden and working at a couple of businesses in town, I have been selling ice cream and reffing soccer, and both of us have worked with the Saskatchewan Housing Authority during our time there. We are also very involved with Hampton Free Methodist Church in Saskatoon, helping out on Sunday mornings and doing some things with the young adults in the congregation. It has been a very rewarding and enjoyable time for us.
Prior to moving to the Saskatoon area, I was the Associate Pastor at First Free Methodist in Moose Jaw and before that a police officer. I am a big fan of the Riders and the Leafs (keep your jokes to yourselves, please), I enjoy playing guitar and drums, and I relax best while wilderness camping in the north. More than anything else I like spending time with my family, regardless of what we are doing.
If you happen to be at the camp, come by and say hello! Make sure you introduce yourself, though…there are a lot of new faces for me to get to know, and it may take me a while to get it right.
