God the Builder
If you didn’t know, we had our annual Man Camp a couple weeks ago out at Arlington. This was the third annual Man Camp and we had 35 men attend throughout the weekend.
This year, our big event was a large tent we put out on the lake to act as a central location for outdoor activities as well as ice fishing. We heated it as best we could but it was still a little chilly!
We also had Bryan Bosley from Regina show us how to smoke a brisket (it was delicious!) and played boardgames in the evenings.
We were blessed with 4 speakers this year. Three of the speakers were from a men’s group in Weyburn headed up by Scott Lawrence. Each of the three men shared about struggles in their lives and how God built them up afterwards. We also heard from Ed Smith who spoke about his battle with different laws in regards to prostitution as well as his personal story of pain and triumph.
Everyone who attended met with God in a new and powerful way. As he always does, he spoke to each man right where they were and shed light on the darkness in their lives. The man to man fellowship was great and everyone came away with a better relationship with God and each other. The Man Camp ministry is an annual retreat that seeks to bring men together to discuss, learn and hear about how God is working in their lives and in the lives of others.
We hope to see you next year! Dates are not yet set but it will likely be mid to late January 2016.
