We have some exciting news to share with the Arlington Community.
I would like to take a moment on behalf of myself and our Board of Directors to introduce our first Associate Director of Ministry Development, Wayne Teetaert. Wayne, his wife Kristin, and children Finnlay and Alice are a welcome addition to our Arlington family. Wayne has a heart to see families reconnect and grow through Christian camping. He is eager to join our team and step in to help lead and develop our community, as well as our ministry programs. Not only does he bring experience in, and a passion for, Christian Camping, Wayne is a talented craftsman with over 20 years of experience in both residential and commercial construction.
His practical knowledge of both project management and camping practices will be an asset as we move forward as an organization and Hamlet. We are happy to have Wayne on board and the future is looking bright as a community and an organization. Wayne’s passion, experience, and expertise will play a huge roll as we look to what is ahead and tackle the day-to-day operations of our camp and community.
The Associate Director of Ministry Development position came about as our Board worked to update our mission and vision as an organization. As the new Executive Director, I am thankful for their collective wisdom, passion, and heart for Arlington Beach Camp and our community. As our board members moved through this process, they began by identifying the past obstacles that previous Executive Directors have faced in our organization. The consensus was that the job scope had been too grand to ensure longevity. They could see that the ability to plan and build for the future tended to take a back seat to ensuring that the day-to-day operations and current ministry plans were taken care of and maintained. This realization led our Board to the conclusion we needed someone to come alongside our Executive Director. This person was to be someone who could help us move forward as an effective ministry centre and faith-based community.
As I stepped into to my new role, I took that directive from our Board and began to ask God to help me to have an honest and sober look at myself. I was looking to see what characteristics and skillset I needed this person to possess in order to help me be successful in fulfilling the vision that God had put on my heart for our organization and community. Out of that process working with Board directive to develop the new role, I was able to put together the job role for our Associate Director of Ministry Development. I am thankful to have been introduced to Wayne as a possible candidate after he had expressed interest in the new position. As we began to talk and share our stories, I could see God’s hand in bringing us together as a team. I am pleased that he was ready to take on the role and join me as we embark on a new chapter in the rich history of Arlington Beach Camp.
God has a plan for Arlington Beach Camp and Conference Centre. He has great things in store for us as we work together to continue to build a Christ-centered community and ministry centre. He has entrusted us to be a place of rest and restoration to all who seek to draw closer to Him. By welcoming Wayne and his family to our team and into our community we are doing two things. First, we are boldly stating that we seeking to honor our rich legacy of faith in God’s direction and provision. Secondly, we are announcing that we are ready to step into the future, to begin to seek and build that which Jesus has in store for us. Please join me and welcoming the Teetaerts into the Arlington Beach family.
