Hey there! If you’re a parent wondering how to help your teenager step up as a leader, or if you’re a young person ready to discover what you’re truly capable of, you’ve come to the right place. At Arlington Beach Camp, we’re passionate about developing the next generation of Christian leaders, and our Youth Leadership Retreat featuring GLS Next is designed to do exactly that.
Let’s be honest – today’s teens are facing challenges we never imagined. Social media pressure, career uncertainty, and a world that often feels chaotic can leave young people feeling lost or overwhelmed. But here’s what we’ve learned after years of working with youth: when teenagers discover their leadership potential and connect it to their faith, amazing things happen.
That’s where our Youth Leadership Retreat comes in. We’ve partnered with GLS Next (Global Leadership Summit Next Generation) to bring world-class leadership development directly to the beautiful shores of Saskatchewan’s Arlington Beach.

GLS Next isn’t just another youth program. It’s a transformational leadership experience specifically designed to awaken young leaders in their leadership journey, faith, and life purpose. The program focuses on practical leadership skills that teenagers can use immediately – whether they’re leading a school project, organizing a community event, or simply navigating their daily relationships.
What sets GLS Next apart is its focus on authentic leadership development. Instead of generic motivational speeches, participants dive deep into:
There’s something special about stepping away from everyday distractions and immersing yourself in nature. Our lakefront location provides the perfect backdrop for reflection, growth, and genuine connection. When teens aren’t constantly checking their phones or dealing with school stress, they can focus on what really matters – discovering who God created them to be.

Our facilities are designed with youth in mind. Comfortable cabins encourage deep conversations late into the night. Our dining hall becomes a place where new friendships form over shared meals. And our outdoor spaces – from the beach to our fire pits – create natural gathering spots where real community happens.
The retreat kicks off with an introduction to leadership principles through the GLS Next framework. Participants complete leadership assessments and begin understanding their natural strengths. Evening activities include team-building exercises and worship time around the campfire.
Day two focuses on practical leadership skills. Through interactive workshops, role-playing exercises, and group challenges, participants practice communication, problem-solving, and decision-making. The afternoon includes outdoor leadership challenges that push comfort zones in a supportive environment.

The final day helps participants connect their leadership abilities to their faith and future calling. Through guided reflection, small group discussions, and mentorship conversations, young people leave with a clearer sense of their purpose and a plan for continued growth.
We’re not interested in surface-level youth programming that makes teens feel good for a weekend but doesn’t create lasting change. Our partnership with GLS Next ensures that participants receive research-backed leadership development that will serve them throughout their lives.

What makes our youth leadership retreat unique isn’t just the GLS Next programming – it’s the environment we’ve created. Since our founding, Arlington Beach Camp has been committed to providing a space where people can encounter God in meaningful ways. For our youth leadership retreat, that means:
Authentic Community: Small group sizes ensure every participant is known and valued. No one gets lost in the crowd.
Experienced Leadership: Our staff includes trained GLS Next facilitators as well as experienced youth workers who understand the unique challenges today’s teenagers face.
Practical Application: Every leadership principle is immediately put into practice through camp activities, group projects, and peer interactions.
Spiritual Integration: Leadership development isn’t separate from faith development – they’re woven together throughout the entire experience.

This retreat is designed for teenagers ages 15+ who are ready to take their personal development seriously. Participants don’t need to be existing leaders or have specific experience. They just need to be open to growth and willing to step outside their comfort zone.
